Why might my pet need this product?

As dogs age, it is common for their joints to become less flexible, which impacts their mobility and quality of life. Even at younger ages, some dogs are subject to joint health concerns, which affect flexibility and mobility.

  • The following signs suggest that your pet may have arthritis.
  • Reluctance to walk, climb stairs, jump or play.
  • Limping or walking strangely.
  • Swelling in, or abnormal appearance of, a joint.
  • Lagging behind on walks.
  • Difficulty rising from a resting position.
  • Yelping in pain when touched or generally resisting touch.

Ideally, your dog should start taking this product prior to six years of age to slow the degeneration of cartilage that causes arthritis.

Active Ingredients

Each 2.5g of Rufus & Coco Joint Aid contains: Glucosamine HCI 500mg, Chondroitin Sulfate 400mg.

Also contains: MSM 51mg, Manganese Gluconate 45.5mg, Calcium Ascorbate (Vit C) 80mg, Zinc 2.1mg, Copper 0.17mg and Vitamin E 1.5mg.

Glucosamine Hydrochloride - Stimulates synthesis of synovial fluid and the complete cartilage matrix, including collagen and proteoglycans. Basically, Glucosamine provides the building blocks to synthesise new cartilage.

Chondroitin Sulphate - In addition to being the major glycosaminoglycan (GAG) found in cartilage, this provides protection by inhibiting degradative enzymes. Put simply, Chondroitin blocks destructive enzymes that break down cartilage in the joint.

MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) is a compound normally found in foods. It contributes methyl groups and sulphur, Methtyl groups form the building blocks of all organic molecules in the body. Sulphur is necessary for healthy cartilage and liver detoxification processes, which helps with the strength of collagen in the joints. With increasing age, the supply of sulfur in the body decreases.

MSM is often considered the safest donor of methyl groups and sulfur, as it leaves no toxic rest molecule behind.

Manganese and calcium ascorbate (Vitamin C) are essential in the pathways to manufacture cartilage.
